Site Reliability Engineer & DevOps Engineer

Professional with experience in server administration, application deployment, continuous integration and continuous deployment, with a strong focus on IT security.

I am passionate about my work, because I love what I do. That's why I try to have a great impact on the quality of the applications I have worked on, avoiding economic and technical conflicts.

During my career I have had the opportunity to work with different cloud services like Azure and AWS, using technologies like Docker and Kubernetes (k8s) on linux servers. With the knowledge of cloud architecture I have been able to significantly reduce the value of cloud services invoices.

Professional Experience

Research Scholar

2020 - 2021

Institución Universitaria de Envigado

  • Created the entire on-premise system of a semi-autonomous garbage collection robot.
  • Configured the whole system on raspbian (linux distro) for the correct functioning of the robot's brain, I used bash scripts to automate processes like user creation, databases, etc. Manual work was reduced by more than 60%.
  • At one stage of the project it was chosen to use AWS, so I used Docker with Mosquitto's MQTT container to use the mqtt protocol to communicate the raspberry pi with AWS EC2.

  • Worked on the deployment of the application in Microsoft Azure, Digital Ocean and Linode.
  • Improved security in the backend of the platform, such as increasing the required characters for the password, limiting login attempts and verifying possible information leaks.
  • Together with the development team, we made it possible to dockerize the entire application infrastructure, using Jenkins for continuous integration.
